Standing in Solidarity with Our Trans Terps
May 7th, 2021
University of Maryland Community,
Trans students are valuable, worthy, and necessary members of our University of Maryland community, and when the lives of our trans students are upended by grief and loss, we honor that pain alongside you.
The University Health Center unequivocally supports trans students at UMD, and we stand in solidarity as the trans community mourns the loss of two fellow students whose deaths have sent waves of mourning across our campus community over the past semester.
Please remember that you cannot pour from an empty cup, and it is important to take care of yourself in the ways that feel appropriate for you as you grieve. Your healing is as important as your mourning in honoring the memories of those you care about, and you are not alone.
Trans Mental Health Matters. Trans Lives Matter.
In Solidarity,
The University of Maryland Health Center
