Dr. Tonya C. Phillips, PHD, LCSW-C, LCADC
Dr. Tonya C. Phillips currently serves as Program Manager for the faculty staff assistance program and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She oversees programming while specializing in supporting employee well-being and productivity through assessment, short-term counseling, workplace consultation, crisis intervention, training, and referral to resources, with a focus on the intersection of mental health and organizational functioning.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Phillips has over 15 years of experience with the Department of Defense, providing administrative oversight, clinical consultation as a mental health subject matter expert, and solution-focused psychotherapy for individuals in national security–sensitive positions.
She is a published author, maintains a private practice offering trauma-informed care to uniformed personnel, and delivers professional continuing education services. Dr. Phillips has also developed trauma-focused training curricula for numerous organizations.
She earned her BSW and MSW (Employee Assistance Program concentration) from the University of Maryland and her Ph.D. in Social Work from Morgan State University.
