Assistant Athletic Trainer

Sierra joined the University of Maryland Sports Medicine Department in January 2026 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Track & Field/Cross Country programs.

Before coming to Maryland, Sierra served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Coppin State University, an HBCU in Baltimore, MD, working primarily with women’s basketball and baseball. She also traveled with men’s basketball, volleyball, and track & field. Prior to that, she was the Head Athletic Trainer at Middletown High School in Delaware. In summer 2022, she worked preseason camp with the Stanford Cardinal football team as an MSAT student.

Sierra earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Delaware State University (2020) and her master’s degree in athletic training from West Chester University of Pennsylvania (2023).

A native of New Castle, Delaware, Sierra enjoys exploring Baltimore, especially farmers markets, flower festivals, and concerts.

Fun Fact: She met Olympian Dee Dee Trotter at the Penn Relays in high school.
