Trauma Therapist and Advocate

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Welcome! I’m Emily Watkins, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Parts Work, as well as a strong background in somatic-based modalities. My approach to therapy is rooted in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and holistic practices, ensuring that each session is tailored to honor your unique experiences and needs.

I specialize in supporting adults who have experienced power-based violence, including sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can explore and heal from past trauma, reconnect with your inner strength, and work toward lasting recovery and resilience.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Family Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where I focused on clinical work with a trauma-sensitive lens.

When I’m not in the office, you can often find me spending time with loved ones, exploring the outdoors with my Labrador Retriever, experimenting with new recipes, trying out local restaurants, or diving into a good book. I believe in the power of connection—both with others and with nature—and I carry this belief into my therapeutic work, understanding that healing occurs within relationships and self-awareness.

If you're seeking a compassionate, empathetic, and client-centered approach to healing, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
