CARE Outreach Peers Present: Healthy Relationships Tabling February 12 *Cancelled due to University Closure* 3-6pm Stamp Building, Food Court Booth C Swing by for a fun activity and to pick up free consent-based Valentine's Day cards.
CARE in Conversation Heart to Heart: Dating, Consent, and Boundaries February 13 3:30-5pm University Health Center, Ground Floor, Room 0141 Come to enjoy coffee and donuts, and talk about consent, boundaries, and communication in all stages and types of relationships
Learn More about CARE's Peer Programs February 27 1-5pm Stamp Building, Food Court Booth A Stop by to learn more about our three peer programs: Peer Advocacy, Peer Education, and Peer Outreach and get your questions answered about the peer program application.
Step Up! Event March 5 *Cancelled due to inclement weather* 10am-12:30pm Hornbake Plaza Learn about bystander intervention and campus resources. CARE Step UP! and Peer Educators will host campus resources and have fun activities related to power-based violence prevention and awareness.
CARE in Conversation Safer Spaces, Stronger Communities: Environmental Approaches to Sexual Violence Prevention March 12 3:30-5pm University Health Center, Ground Floor, Room 0141 Enjoy coffee and donuts, while taking part in this student-driven dialogue on campus environments and sexual violence. We'll talk about how different spaces on campus impact sexual and dating interactions, and ways that we can collectively build a safer campus community.
Crafts and Cookies: SAAM Kickoff Event March 28 3-5pm Studio A, Basement of Stamp Join CARE and OCRSM in Studio A on Mar. 28 3-5 p.m. Hang out and craft with other members of the UMD community to kickoff Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We will be engaging in several mindful crafts, including painting, coloring, and keychain & bracelet making.
The Clothesline Project April 2 10am-3pm McKeldin Mall, West A visual representation of the impacts of sexual and relationship violence on the campus community. This event from the CARE Office provides community members with an opportunity to confront the issue of power-based violence by creating and displaying their own messages on a shirt during SAAM.
Take Back the Night April 9 McKeldin Mall, West TBTN is an international event that amplifies the voices of sexual assault survivors and their allies.This year’s theme is "The Silent Survivor." In recognizing survivors, we will take time to explore why some may not come forward and discuss how we, as a community, can offer support. The event will include an interactive activity and conversations about ways we can collectively make a difference.
CARE in Conversation April 10 3:30-5pm University Health Center, Ground Floor, Room 0141 Enjoy coffee, cookies, and self-care giveaways while reflecting on the impact of traditional, gendered frameworks in sexual and relationship violence prevention. Together, we’ll explore strategies to reimagine these frameworks so that the experiences of survivors of all gender and sexual identities are better represented in prevention efforts. We’ll also discuss ways we can collectively provide stronger support for survivors.

Denim Day with CARE April 30 11am-2pm McKeldin Mall, West Stop by to learn about the history of Denim Day, the impact of victim blaming, and how we can all work to support survivors. Enjoy fun activities, write messages of support for survivors, and engage in meaningful discussions, while enjoying refreshments. Wear denim to show your support, and let’s stand together as a community against sexual violence.
