Justin Sybenga, LCSW-C, M.Ed.

Justin is a Licensed Masters Social Worker who specializes in working with adolescents and young adults in educational settings.  Justin taught high school English in the DC metro area for 19 years and earned his Master in Education from the University of Maryland.  Long interested in the intersection of social justice and individual well-being, Justin pursued a Master in Social Work from Catholic University.  

At the outset of therapy, Justin works with clients to better understand how their past experiences affect their current beliefs, emotions, relationships, and habits.  Using a strength-based, collaborative approach, Justin works with clients to foster new mindsets and experiences to help clients move in the direction of their goals and values.  Justin attends carefully to the client experience and is responsive to client input and feedback.  Justin is an avid reader and life-long learner and is apt to share short videos or podcast episodes to facilitate growth between sessions.  Justin loves sports, political engagement, spending time with his family, and learning to play the guitar.
