Barrier Carrier

Home Barrier Carrier

We've got you covered...Literally!

What is a Barrier Carrier?

Barrier Carriers are secure wall-mounted distribution cases stocked with free safer sex supplies. Most Barrier Carriers include external condoms (condoms worn on the penis). Barrier Carriers are found in several locations on campus, supply availability may vary by location.

Barrier Carrier Locations:

  • University Health Center front entrance vestibule
  • School of Public Health Wellness Room 0106
  • La Plata Hall
  • Pyon-Chen Hall
  • Johnson-Whittle Hall
  • Oakland Hall
  • Prince Frederick Hall
  • South Campus Commons 1
  • South Campus Commons 3
  • South Campus Commons 6

Looking for more options?

The Sexual Health Resource Map highlights more than 20 safer sex supply locations across campus. Some sites offer free supply baskets, while others are at-cost convenience locations.
Some locations also carry more inclusive options than Barrier Carriers, such as different sizes, materials, and products.

Want the best selection on campus?

The Health Promotion & Wellness Services resource table (ground floor of the University Health Center) offers the campus’s widest range of safer sex supplies, including:

  • Internal & external condoms
  • Larger-fit and snugger-fit options
  • Latex and non-latex condoms
  • Lubrication (variety of types)
  • Non-lubricated and flavored condoms
  • Oral dams and more

Students can create their own grab-n-go bag at this table. Watch this short video for directions to this resource table.

Don’t See What You Need?

If you visit a safer sex supply site and don’t find what you’re looking for, you can submit a request using the Safer Sex Supply Request Form. Your items will be prepared for discreet pickup at the University Health Center.

Share the Love!

When visiting a free safer sex supply location, please take only what you need, you can always come back for more. Taking supplies in bulk can limit access for other students and risk the sustainability of the program.
In the past, some campus locations have had to discontinue offering free safer sex supplies after repeated incidents of all materials being taken at once, leaving sites empty for extended periods. Your consideration helps keep these resources available for everyone.

If you need bulk supplies for a program or event, please don’t take from these location, use the Safer Sex Supply Request Form for bulk requests.
