The Laboratory processes a wide variety of test requests from University Health Center providers and, for a nominal administrative fee, from non-University Health Center medical providers. Some tests are performed in the laboratory and some are sent to designated reference laboratories.

What is Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault?
Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA) or attempted assault occurs when substances are used to decrease an individual’s ability to consent to sexual activity, sometimes without the person’s knowledge. Although many substances can be used in DFSA, the most common is alcohol. Alcohol may be used alone or in combination with other substances.
Formerly Behavioral Health Services
The Health Center's Psychiatry and Substance Use Services department is staffed with licensed psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, who are available to assist UMD Students with a variety of mental health conditions. We can also consult with the broader UMD campus community as needed.

The Allergy Clinic administers allergy injections to undergraduate students under the direction of their allergist or another physician. Allergy injections are administered by appointment only. The University Health Center does not perform initial allergy testing or administer the initial allergy serum at the start of desensitization.
Student forms and serum to be considered for acceptance into our clinic must be brought to our clinic at least 1 week before the start of allergy injections.
Our goal at the Health Center is to be the provider of choice for health care and health information for University of Maryland students, to be recognized as a leader in collegiate health care, to be an important source of services for faculty and staff, and to be an integral part of the University’s educational mission.
