The Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is an assessment, referral, coaching, consultation and short-term counseling service available to all full and part-time employees of the University of Maryland.  Since 1988, we have worked with thousands of employees to address a variety of work-related conflicts and personal issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship and family conflicts, as well as medical, legal and financial concerns.

We've got you covered...Literally!

Nutrition Coach's Corner

Our Peer Nutrition Coaches are asked a variety of nutrition-related questions every day. Here is a sample of the most popular topics and the advice they give to students. Check out the blogs they have written to see!

An active and personal process of caring for ourselves and others, influenced by our diverse cultures, identities, and life experiences. Inclusion, diversity, equity, and access are required to support our basic needs, and to build a life that feels aligned and authentic to who we are and who we strive to be.

The University Health Center is committed to providing reliable resources to the community. Below is a list of resources available to students, staff, and anyone interested in recovery. If you have questions, please email the TFR Staff Advisor, Demi Morris, at gmorris@umd.edu.

The Substance Use and Harm Reduction program believes that, when students are provided with relevant, culturally conscious, and evidence-based information about different forms of substance use and various harm reduction strategies, they are capable of navigating situations where substance use is prevalent and making decisions that reduce harmful consequences for themselves and their peers.

Stress is a part of life.

Small amounts of stress can serve as a helpful motivator for accomplishing goals. It's not uncommon, though, for stress to become overwhelming, creating unpleasant symptoms and sometimes impacting our daily lives. In fact, according to the National College Health Assessment, stress is consistently ranked as the number one impediment to academic success at the University of Maryland.

The Sexual Health program encourages sexual health and wellness by providing education, support, and resources for the campus community. Our goal is to empower students to make informed decisions regarding their sexual wellbeing and to encourage a responsible foundation upon which they can successfully build throughout their adult lives.

We are so excited you are interested in bringing wellness & advocacy programming into your classroom or community space! Please see below for more information about our various presentation and program offerings, as well as how to get in touch with us for more information.

The University Health Center Nutrition Service unit empowers and supports members of the University of Maryland College Park community with the knowledge and skills needed to make and implement healthy nutrition choices today and for a lifetime.
